Most of you probably have no idea what is pictured above, or why I was so thrilled to have discovered a copy. Way back "in the day" before the internets happened, model horse hobbyists printed their Sire and Dam Lists out on paper. People who wanted to use a hobbyist's sires or dams requested a copy of the listing, usually by sending a "LSASE" (or large self-addressed stamped envelope) through the "snail mail" system. I know, practically the Stone Age! HA! As you can tell, my listing did not fit into a "regular" large envelope, and it required more than one or two stamps to mail. I know Cory Hartung and Lori Williams had copies, Heather Mays probably also had a copy. There were others out there, but I have lost touch with most of the people from "back in the day."
The picture above is of one of my last printed versions of my model horse Sire and Dam List. Yes, that is a "soft binder" that is holding about 1-inch of paper, holding the printed "glimpse" of Indigo Creek Stables back when I was really "ramping up" to what Indigo Creek Stables is today. I am particularly thrilled to have found this, as I had compiled "reference lists" for the model horses that I used from other people, and included an abbreviated reference list for most breeds on my listing. Model horse history!!! Interestingly, I managed to uncover the reference listing for my Egyptian Arabians several years ago, and doggedly searched for the other reference lists but to no avail. Finding this complete listing, intact, brought a big ol' smile to my face!
And now to waste a few hours flipping through the past of Indigo Creek Stables... *grin*
