Another observation of "where does the time go?!?" Hard to believe that it's been so long since I posted. There has been a lot happening "in real life" that left me with little time for model horses, now that things are settling down I'm re-focusing just in time for NAN in Palm Springs. I will post after NAN, I am showing all 3 days but the bulk of my show string will be showing on Sunday in the OF China breed halter division. *fingers crossed*
I do have a few new horses to share. First, the two new minis that will be joining my show string, courtesy of the amazing talents of Chris Jolly:

And keeping true to my "usual" form, neither little critter has a name yet. The blue roan Dainty Darcy has parents (REM Clayton -x- REM Dinah Might), but I can't decide on a name for her. The palomino Mini Nahar is a whole 'nuther ball o' string. I am batting around several pedigree options, and I would love to work "Tah Dah" into the name, of something along those lines. Decisions, decisions!
And now, *drum roll*... Thanks to a seller who was amazingly generous with accepting time payments, I am SO EXCITED to be able to share that I was able to add not one but TWO of my "clinky grails" to my collection!

The Royal Worcester Suffolk Punch Stallion has been a "grail" of mine for a while. Several years ago, a fellow collector had purchased one of these majestic pieces and had some minor repairs done. The person who did the repairs lived close to my house at the time, and they arranged it so I would pick up the RW Suffolk and hand-deliver him in person at a live show. I was relatively new to the world of clinkies, and was in complete awe of this piece. I admit that while he stayed at my house, I peeked into his box several times simply to gaze upon his awesomeness! That was when I decided that, one day, I would own one of these superb pieces.
Fast forward many years, and my clinky collection has definitely grown. Admittedly, I am primarily a collector of Horsing Around/The Horse Gallery pieces (especially Brigitte Eberl sculpts), with a few H-R's and some AAA and hobby-produced clinkies, as well. I am lucky enough to live and show in a region that has a hand-full of clinky collectors and exhibitors, so I have been lucky enough to be able to see many lovely RW pieces in person. When I saw the RW Suffolk pictured above advertised for sale on MH$P last year, I took the plunge and emailed the seller. Thank goodness she was willing to accept time payments, she made it possible for me to own one of my "grail" model horses, and he came in his "original" packing crate from RW!
At some point shortly after initiating the time payments, the seller approached me about the RW Shire. He had some damage to his blue tail ribbons, and she gave me a great discount on his purchase price, along with extending the time payments so I could own both of these amazing pieces! Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming! HA! She also generously shipped the Shire "first" and I was able to have his tail ribbons repaired/restored. As an interesting note, both my RW Suffolk and Shire came in their original wood shipping crates from RW - they are stamped with their mould numbers and names, along with "Made In England." The shipping crates themselves are marvels of engineering, and have done a brilliant job of keeping both pieces safe during several shipping adventures: across the pond, when the seller purchased them out of an estate sale, and now to me!
